TASTING NOTES

Bright straw yellow colour with distinctive greenish highlights in the glass. An intense, warm, citrussy nose with an invigorating edge. In the mouth, it is tangy and slightly tart, with good length.

It shares similarities with the Portuguese Alvarinho variety, grown in the Vinho Verde zone.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with fish dishes and seafood. This authentic taste of Puglia is fantastic with seasonal, aromatic salads or vegetarian dishes, such as mozzarella and tomato Caprese salad or cured ham with melon.

GRAPE VARIETY AND VINIFICATION

The stony, iron-rich soil of Valle d’Itria is packed with calcarenite and mineral salts. Its altitude, several hundred metres above sea level, gives Verdeca grapes a distinct savouriness. In recent years, this variety has received the attention it deserves.

The vines are pruned using the modern Guyot method and then harvested by hand. The must bloom undergoes cold maceration to allow the skins to release the full range of aromatic components.
